I was hoping to get this Mercedes-Benz SL500 for the best part of 1.5 days but due to unforeseen circumstances I only had it for half a day. The car had not been cleaned properly for years but the owner only uses it occasionally in the summer months.
I could have spent a full day at least on the interior but in the end I managed to quickly clean the carpets and mats. Remove the remains of sticky sweets from the many cubby holes. Finshed off by cleaning and feeding all the leather.
The car is in desperate need of a machine polish but time was not available for this.
All that was done to smarten it up a tad was wash it, clay it and before washing it again I had to use some intensive tar cleaner to remove the hundreds of tar spots from the lower half of the car.
I ended up glazing the whole car which masked a lot of the finer marks. I then applied a coating Collinite Insulator Wax as time was running out.
Now for the after shots.
