1996 Volvo 850R – Polar White – Minor Correction Detail

The 850R is a fairly rare beast these days, more so this one as it was the only Polar White sold by Volvo UK as a Manual. Booked for a 3 day Minor Correction including Engine Bay, Interior and SiRamik treatments. Following a recent trip to the bodyshop, there was plenty of defects to tidy up before applying 2 layers of SiRamik SC15 (a super durable ceramic coating that will easily last 2-3 years).

Upon arrival.

You’ve got to love the old skool interior

Envy’s Iron Awe getting stucking into the metallic particles embedded in the wheels…

….and the paintwork was loaded with fallout

White is hard to capture the defects by camera but this was end result

White is hard to capture the defects by camera but this was what I was up against

Slowly taking shape. The roof had suffered badly from oxidation and embedded grime. Plus it was super sticky, so one had to be patient in order to correct it.

A complete wipe down with Filler Killer to ensure a polish free environment before moving onto the SiRamik application.

The 850R looked awesome in the low light.

Engine was degreased in the initial wash stages and now was wiped down with Filler Killer and dressed with CarPro Perl and Reload.

The grille was brand new but I couldn’t help noticing overspray

So this was polished by hand and sealed with SC15.
